Another speaker has been revealed for the inaugural East Midlands Cyber Summit.

Jill Broom, leads the techUK Cyber Resilience programme, having originally joined techUK in October 2020 as a Programme Manager for the Cyber and Central Government programmes.

She is responsible for managing techUK’s work across the cyber security ecosystem, bringing industry together with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors.

Jill also provides the industry secretariat for the Cyber Growth Partnership, the industry and government conduit for supporting the growth of the sector. A key focus of her work is to strengthen the public–private partnership across cyber to support further development of UK cyber security and resilience policy.

Jill will join more than 100 business leaders, managers and digital specialists at the event in February – the region’s first cyber security conference created specifically for small businesses.

East Midlands Cyber Summit will feature expert talks, hands-on workshops and networking, giving attendees practical insight into how attacks happen and what they can do to protect their organisations.

EMCSC recently confirmed the first speaker, Professor Phil Legg, Professor of Cyber Security at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).

Dr Ismini Vasileiou, founder of EMCSC, said: “Jill brings exactly the kind of national-level perspective on technology that SMEs in the East Midlands need right now.

“Through her work at techUK, Jill sits at the heart of the UK cyber resilience conversation – connecting industry, government and growth initiatives like the Cyber Growth Partnership.

“Having her join Phil at the East Midlands Cyber Summit 2026 means delegates will hear directly from someone who understands both the policy landscape and the day-to-day realities facing smaller businesses – which is exactly the blend of insight this event is set up to deliver.”

The East Midlands Cyber Summit is an opportunity to understand how and why cyber attacks happen to SMEs and discover proven ways to boost your business’s resilience through speaking to experts.

Further speakers will be confirmed over coming weeks.

The Summit takes place on 12 February 2026 from 9am to 4pm at The Venue, Western Boulevard, Leicester. Registration is free for East Midlands businesses – but only 100 places are available. Reserve yours now here.
