East Midlands Security Cluster is partnering with East Midlands Regional Defence and Security Cluster.
EMRDSC drives defence innovation in the East Midlands through collaboration between academia, government, and industry.
Its role is to bring together academic institutions, government bodies, public sector agencies, and the defence and security industry across the region.
EMRDSC acts as a hub to leverage the region’s strengths in innovation and research to contribute to the UK’s defence and security needs, simultaneously promoting economic and technological advancement in the East Midlands. Its work is focused on:
East Midlands Cyber Security Cluster, meanwhile, strengthens regional digital safety by organising events, sharing best practice, and providing education programmes to businesses, particularly SMEs lacking in-house cyber teams. Its purpose is to boost regional collaboration, address the digital skills shortage, and promote the area’s cyber expertise and innovation on a national level to support economic growth.
Dr Ismini Vasileiou, founder of EMCSC, said: “There are obvious parallels between our two organisations, both in terms of our geography and our focus on skills and regional economic development.
“Defence is an increasing area of interest for the Government, as is digital security, and I’m looking forward to developing EMCSC’s partnership further with EMRDSC over coming months and years.”
